From digestion to better eyesight, and capabilities of preventing heart issues and other diseases, superfruits have earned their title as heroic remedies.

1. Acai Berries

Acai berries started the superfruit phenomenon and are still by far the most popular. This makes sense because of how many benefits acai berries provide to your body as well how tasty they really are.

These berries are loaded with antioxidants. If you don’t know what these are or what they do, antioxidants neutralize the free radicals in your body. If these free radicals are not neutralized, they can cause diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and even cancer. Acai berries prevent very serious and even deadly diseases.

2. Papaya

Papaya had a lot more health benefits than you would expect and deserves a lot more credit than it gets. Perhaps the biggest benefit is that it boosts your immunity system. Your immune system helps fight off diseases and infection, so the stronger the better. Just one single papaya provides 200% of the daily requirement of Vitamin C.

Papaya also helps with eyesight, weight loss by making you feel full, lowers cholesterol, improves digestion, eases menstrual pain, reduces stress, prevents cancer, prevents wrinkles, and even helps diabetes. For a fruit that’s not typically included in most standard fruit trays, it’s quite a steal.

3. Grapefruit

Grapefruits are both sweet and sour, so they hit both sides of the spectrum. They are liked by almost everyone and are one of the healthiest citrus fruits you can find. Similar to a watermelon, grapefruit contains a lot of water. Therefore, it is able to hydrate you very quickly.

It’s convenient to eat by simply slicing and eating, so it’s the perfect to-go snack. It will not only keep you full but will also keep you hydrated as well. Grapefruit’s other health benefits include reducing the chance of kidney stones, improving heart health, preventing insulin resistance for diabetics, aiding in weight loss, and controlling of appetite.

4. Haritaki

Haritaki is definitely one of the lesser-known superfruits but nonetheless provides excellent benefits. One of its great qualities is that it cleans out your digestive system and detoxifies anything that might harm you in the process.

It also helps prevent diseases such as Irritable Bowell Syndrome, Parkinson’s Disease, Chron’s Disease, and Alzheimer’s. Some other health benefits to Haritaki are increased brain function, constipation relief, gut cleansing, diabetes assistance, heart improvements, increased immunity, hair loss reduction, and skin cleanser. The list doesn’t stop here. In fact, there are as many as 49 benefits of taking Haritaki!

5. Kiwi

Kiwi is a very popular fruit in tropical environments. In the summertime, you’ll find it in smoothies or as an ice cream flavor. They are a bright green color on the inside and filled with many small black seeds.

The benefits of the kiwi are endless. Kiwi is a very high source of Vitamin C. A powerhouse for minerals and vitamins, it cleans problematic skin, helps digestion, is a source of dietary fiber, a sleep inducer, and a good source of folate.

Perhaps the trendiest and most sought after superfruit is the avocado. Avocados are made up of potassium, fatty acids, and dietary fiber. Approximately two-thirds of an avocado is monounsaturated fats, or “good fats.” These fats reduce the bad cholesterol or “LDL” and increase “HDL” or good cholesterol.
