What is Couscous?

Its often made as a base ingredient for salads, it is able to absorb strong flavors easily.

How do I use it?

Usually used as an accompaniment to spicy dishes such as curries, stews and chili. Used also as a substitute for rice or basic ingredients for salads. How to Cook Couscous

This traditional North African food takes a lot of time to cook by steaming. However, some types available on the market have been steamed. You just hydrate with water and steam it for a while. Here are the steps for cooking Couscous.

  • Add 1 1/2 cup Couscous into the bowl, heat on the flame, add 1/2 cup broth or water.
  • Close the bowl tightly for 5 minutes. It aims to get the vapor to ripen Couscous soon.
  • After five minutes, get fork to fluff up the grains
